Aubrey's Headband

Yesterday evening we had a Ward Christmas Party to go to. During quiet time I peeked in on Aubrey and she had dressed up her doll in a dress and then made a headband for her. She found a rubber band, drew a picture of a flower and cut it out and then glued it onto the rubber band. Then she put it on her doll. I thought it was the most darling thing! When I told her how cute it was she said, "I wanted my baby to go to the party tonight, so I got her all dressed up." A girl after my own heart!

Art Class

 I signed us up for the free art class at the museum again this month. I knew Aubrey would absolutely love it.

This time we were exploring sound. First we looked at a painting and talked about what they saw. Then they handed out different types of instruments and noise makers. The docent told a story and at certain parts of the story had someone hold up a picture of a specific noise maker and those children made the noise. The noise corresponded to what they may have been hearing in the picture.

On the second picture, Aubrey got to be the helper and hold up the pictures.

Then we made guitars out of tissue boxes, paper towel rolls and rubber bands.

The girls enjoyed decorating their guitars.

At home Aubrey said, "Sometimes people have a string on their guitar so they can wear it like a necklace. Can we put some yarn on my guitar?" Too cute.

It's such a fun little class. I hope they do some more next year.

Princess Festival

 Me and my girls went to a cute little Princess Festival on Thursday.

 It was kind of like an interactive musical. It took place in the Northpole and included some Elves, a Princess and her King & Queen parents and their hobbyduck Nicholas. (aka Santa before he became Santa.)

 Aubrey ran and sat by the other Sleeping Beauties!

They got to play a game with the Elves.

Here they are meeting the Hobbyduke Nicholas. At this point there had been an avalanche and we were trapped at the north pole. Nicholas had some magic dust in his staff, but wasn't sure how he could use it to get us over the mountain. He asked the kids what he should do and Aubrey yelled, "make the reindeer fly!" Too cute!

Then they got to help load the sleigh with presents.

The sleigh was too full of presents for us to fit in too. So they all closed their eyes and used their "magic within" to wish us home.

Then they got to make a snowflake ornament.

And then did a little dancing with a Princess on the way out!

It was such a cute little show! 

Little Mommy

Yesterday Brooke fell down and hurt herself. (Nothing major - a quite common occurrence in our house.) Well Aubrey is such a little nurturer. While I was settling Brooke down, she ran and found her purple blankie. Then she laid her on the coach, put pillows on the ground next to it (so it would be soft in case she fell off), pulled over the duck chair and read her stories. I love these sweet, tender moments between my girls!

  I hope they always take care of each other!

Pizza Party

 We had some extra little people at our house a couple of nights ago. When I found out that Jeff would be working late and I'd be all on my own, I decided to turn it into a pizza/movie party.

After we got the pizza made we put on some Christmas shows and ate our pizza. Aww the magic of the television. The decibel level in the home dropped significantly after that magic box got turned on!

We had a fun night with all of the extra little people!
