We started our Independence Day celebrating on Tues. July 3rd.
That morning we went to an Independence Day themed craft and story time.
Here they are making their festive crowns.
Cute little Queen's of Independence Day!
Usually story time is outside under a canopy and we eat a picnic lunch while we watch. But the grounds were all fenced off for the parade the following morning - so they moved it inside.
Here's Aubrey clapping her crazies out.
They let us eat our picnic lunches even though it was inside.
Brookie got called up to help in one of the songs! She was very excited about that!
That evening while we waited for Daddy to get home, we rode some bikes. The girls wanted more pics with their Disney Pals. (The idea is similar to Flat Stanley. They are supposed to take their pals on their adventures all Summer and take pics to document it.)
Yay! Daddy came home and set up the tent for our backyard camp out! The girls were sooooo excited!
Reading some stories in our tent. Every thing's more fun in a tent!
Then we did some of our Fireworks.
I love the expressions on the girls faces as we set off the fireworks. Ohhh to be young again and find this much excitement in the little things!
Then it was sparkler time!
I LOVE Brooke's expression. I imagine she was thinking, "This is exciting and a little scary at the same time!"
We need some more sparklers Dad!
Getting ready to climb into the tent for the night.
While they were getting ready for bed, Daddy set up the DVD player to watch a movie. Here they are snacking on popcorn and watching a show.
We had to break out some glow bracelets too!
It was such a fun night! I think we'll have to make a backyard camp out a Independence Day Eve family tradition!
